Commercial Photography and Content Driven Photography

When I am not capturing a wedding, family, senior or new arrival. You can find me off capturing headshots, products, branding, and social media content for various organizations, non-profits, medical facilities, real estate, computer companies, food bloggers, fitness and yoga studios, shops…etc etc etc the list goes on. I love content driven commercial photography!

I am sure you are asking yourself.. why on earth do you leave the realm of weddings and family photography. The commercial and content photography drive my passion for weddings and family photography. It enables me to expand my skill set and carry over new techniques, trends, experiences that all contribute to the fast pace world that is wedding photography and family photography.

If you didn’t know.. I am a documentary photographer by education and trade.. it’s what I went to college for. Providing Commercial Headshots for Truman Medical or capturing products for Cycle of Heart in the Northland and even capturing the amazing programs the Summit Future Foundation offers- each story that I am fortunate enough to photograph might fall outside the traditional world of weddings and families.. but the same principles (which is telling stories) applies. I have been looking at the world of photography for as long as I can remember and until recently… I realized why I do what I do…. which is tell your story… that’s why my wedding clients ask me to come capture their new arrival.. I literally grow with my clients.. I have lifelong clients from 2010 that still ask me to fly home to IL to capture their sweet kids as they grow! Which when I work with the commercial clients that same things apply.. I literally watch them grow and document their business or nfp as they grow.

I grew up in a theatre- telling stories has been my life since as long as I can remember. I am talking age 3 in the production of Oliver at RVC Starlight Theatre ( 1989) in Rockford, IL ( my hometown). I might not perform on stage like I did for so many years- but now I get to capture individual stories that help tell other’s stories for our face paced world of social media and the internet. That’s why one day you might see me at a wedding and the next I might be downtown Kansas City capturing an interview for the Year of the Woman at Truman Medical Center or you might catch wind that I am capturing products in my home studio/ office for a store or a homegrown business.

Our world is all images.. day in and day out.. Just look at Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and even what is on tv.. Photos stick with us.. and that is why I do what I do.
