Birthday parties.. in particular 1st Birthday parties are such an important milestone and one that only happens ONCE!

I was asked a few weeks ago if I would be able to cover a sweet little girl’s birthday party in Glen Ellyn, IL and I am so thankful I had their date available. What a beautiful and sweet family.

I wanted to share a few pictures from their celebration because she was just too cute and surrounded by so much love. I felt as if I had known this family for years as soon I arrived. I was greeted with such kindness and they quickly wanted to make sure I was comfortable. Which is always a lovely environment to be in. The star of the hour was getting her party slumber in as I arrived which allowed for me to capture the details that her mother so thoughtfully planned… right down to her shoes and headband. I was amazed at how each floral motif blending perfectly into the next. I was able to capture some sweet moments with L and her parents before she was brought down to her celebration and literally had the coolest cake to smash from Vanilla Sugar bakery in Glen Ellyn and her family and their friends watched her slowly start to dig in for her first sugar rush. It was truly a beautiful celebration and you could definitely tell how loved she is.

Reasons to hirer a Photographer for your Birthday Celebration

I have learned over the years why it is always a great idea to hirer a photographer for a birthday celebration, milestone, wedding etc.. I mean I am always capturing memories. But one of my biggest ideas I like to encourage is to have a photographer there to capture everything so you can actually be in the moment. Put down your cell phone and just soak up all the things. In this day and age we live behind our devices and truth be told its always lovely when you can put the phone down and just enjoy the moment. That is why I am a huge advocate for hiring a photographer to capture your memories.
To tag along with the notion above is that if you are hosting the celebration or event you already have too much on your hands to worry about taking pictures of everything and everyone. That way you can get the party started and actually be in the photos too.
Photographers do have an eye for detail.. maybe its your decorations you spent hours prepping or maybe its the leftover cake on the table at the end of the night. We capture it all. When you look back you can really enjoy all the handwork you put into your celebration,
These memories will last a lifetime well beyond just the party timeframe. You will be able to look back and cherish the moments of your child’s first birthday over and over again. Photographers are great at capturing moments you might be missing because you are running around or even just socializing. It’s always great because you have the mix of candid’s meet posed at your celebration to always look back on.
