A Planning Guide for Couples from a Photographer Who's Seen It All
Hey Brides!
I know wedding planning can be daunting. I remember planning my wedding 5 years ago… and let’s just say I wanted everything I saw on Pinterest and then I added in all the DIY projects.. to the point where I had a friend go cut logs- so I could have the perfect centerpieces. Now I use all the knowledge I have gained not only from planning my wedding but from what I have learned from planners, photographers, and even my own brides. With all of that knowledge, I compiled a shortlist.
PLANNING GUIDE FOR COUPLES
Hire vendors that you like.. the ones who you trust and who you enjoy being around. Meet with them and really get to know your vendors. Having a great relationship with your vendors will actually go a long way on your wedding day. Trust me!
Your budget is important and I always tell people to create a list of their priorities. It makes it easier to stick to a budget and also allows you to get exactly what you want as you plan your wedding day.
Don’t get held back by the small details…. I mean they are great. I encourage you to focus on the bigger picture of your entire day. Sometimes as a bride, you can totally get consumed by the tiny details and forget big things. like your cake. I have seen it happen.
Wear a button-down shirt, robe, or similar when getting your hair done. I have actually lent a bride the shirt I was wearing because it totally slipped her mind that she was about to get her hair done and the t-shirt she was wearing wasn’t forgiving enough to pull over her head. While we are on the topic of hair.. get that hair trial done before your wedding so you don’t stress so much on your wedding day.
I always encourage my couples to make sure to schedule in some “me and you” time into your wedding day timeline. The day goes by so fast and oftentimes you don’t get any time to yourselves to actually take in your wedding day.
I hope these tips help you with your wedding planning! When you book my services I am always on hand to help you with your timeline and to make sure these small details are worked out with your planner. I can’t wait to talk to you and celebrate on your wedding day!
Happy Wedding Planning!!
